Romans Verse A Day

Romans 1:4 “who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.”

We can declare Jesus is Lord by his resurrection from the dead and by his holiness, or set apartness. Paul wants the reader to know in whose name he is writing this letter.

7-Elevens are consistently subpar to terrible. I am skeptical that even the capable Japanese can make a difference.

When big events happen, I am glad there are still print newspapers.

Discipline of Silence

For at least 10 minutes a day for the next week I am going to practice silence in my life. On the Mount of Transfiguration, God tells the three disciples present that they need to listen to his son - Jesus. We all want to know the best way to respond to Jesus and we think this response will involve dynamic action and big gestures. But, what if our first and most appropriate response to Jesus is to simply listen to him. God commanded us to. I need to listen to Jesus this week. It will require intentionality of time, stillness, and the absence of noise.
